Guantanamo II? A sequel?

Obama seems to have his own Guantanamo Bay, its located at an in Bagram, Afghanistan. This area is a rights void, a place were there are no rights (38 ).

It is believed that more than 600 terror suspects are held at this detention center with plans to expand it to hold as many as 1,100 terror suspect (39 ).

In 2009 a planned expansion of the prison is said to cost 60 million dollars (40 ).

Jonathan Hafetz, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union who has represented several detainees said "They've now embraced the Bush policy that you can create prisons outside the law," (41 ).

Bin Laden in Spain

In Spain Gaspar Llamazares of the United Left party was outraged when the FBI used his picture to make an age enhanced image of what Bin Laden would look like today. He said "Apologies are not enough," and "I want a thorough investigation into this disgraceful case, which not only causes concern but also worry and indignation over the behaviour of the FBI,"(42 ).

All about oil?

Dick Cheney lobbied the Taliban on behalf of United Oil of California (Unocal) so they Unocal could build a pipeline in Afghanistan in the 1990's (43 ).

Hamid Karzai also use to worked for Unocal (44 ).

The thousand mile long pipeline called the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan pipeline (TAP) was shelved in part of the Taliban's inflexibility and in part because of the out cry from human rights groups about Unocal doing business with them (45 ).

So very soon the major obstacle (Taliban) to the pipeline would be gone.
