In 2002 there was a Vietnamese/American conference held in Vietnam the conference was about spraying of agent orange in Vietnam. American and Vietnamese scientist also conducted a pilot study to test soil and sediment for Dioxin (18 ). Research showed that six out of Sixteen food stuffs gotten from Bien Hoa a former US air base had levels of Dioxin near what they where during the war. Lead researcher Dr. Arnold Schecter, of the University of Texas School of Public Health in Dallas said "This study is one of many that shows Agent Orange is not history. Dioxin contamination is still found in high levels in some Vietnamese, as high as when spraying was going on,"(19 ). |
