Eichmann sent his representative Dieter Wisliceny to Slovakia. He headed up the reorganization of the Hlinka Guard and Slovak volunteers. They were given the responsibility of heading up the deportation of Slovakia's Jews. The deportations began in In March 1942 October 75 percent had been " resettled" mostly to Auschwitz (9 ).

During a conference on September 15 1942 to expand Auschwitz for the “eastern migration “ of Jews. 13.7 million reichsmarks approved to build 300 barracks to house 132,000 inmates. Some of the materials used were also used to construct Hans Kammler's gas chambers and crematoriums (10 ).

Dr. Hans Kammler ( 1901-1945), was an SS General and construction Chief. He helped to build gas chambers at Auschwitz and other camps. He supervised construction of tunnels for V-2 rocket production. He committed suicide at the end of the war(11 ).

Two gas chambers at Auschwitz, could hold total three thousand people combined, at one time. This was never achieved because the transports where never that large (12 ).

In 1994 the Institute for Forensic Research in Cracow, Poland examined numerous structures that eyewitnesses has said had been the gassing chambers. Six of these seven structures tested positive for hydrocyanic acid, the greatest concentration was found in Crematorium II (13 ).

Also consider this, "Cyanide gas evaporates and disperses quickly in open spaces, making it less harmful outdoors."(14 ).

Also consider the quote From the world Health Organization on hydrogen cyanide "Its high volatility probably makes hydrogen cyanide difficult to use in warfare since there are problems in achieving sufficiently high concentrations outdoors. On the other hand, the concentration of hydrogen cyanide may rapidly reach lethal levels if it is released in confined spaces."(15 ).

At any rate how close where the gas chambers? Where were they located within the camp complex?
Photo one is a close up of one gas chamber area. Note the fence and the guard tower would they be necessary these were delousing chambers?
Photo two gives the location of various gas chambers in reference to the camps.
Note the distance and locations, they seem to be sufficient given the above sentence and considerations upon doing their dirty deed these chambers would be evacuated of their poisonous gas.

A special group of Jews were called the Sonderkommando among the tasks they had were help the victims undress, remove the bodies, and help dispose of the bodies. They were houses separately from other in the camp(16 ).

At the Nuremberg war crimes tribunal Rudolf Hoess commandant of Auschwitz said He was responsible for the death of more than 2 million Jews. He said he received his orders Heinrich Himmler, Gestapo head who said "If we do not act now the Jewish people will destroy the German people later."(17 ).
